Pedro Martins Carvalho is an architect and Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture (darq) of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra, Portugal (FCTUC), and a researcher at the Centre of Architectural Studies - from Territory to Design (CEARQ-TD). He graduated in Architecture in 2006 from the University of Coimbra and developed a professional practice, collaborating in several offices and in his own private practice. Pedro Martins Carvalho holds a PhD from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) and is also a collaborating researcher with DFL – Digital Fabrication Laboratory group at the Center of Architectural and Urbanism Studies (CEAU) of FAUP. At the Department of Architecture, Pedro Martins Carvalho lectures several curricular units in the fields of digital design and fabrication for architecture in the Integrated Master in Architecture, the Master in Design and Multimedia and the Erasmus Joint Master in Architecture, Landscape and Archeology. His research interests focus on the integration of computational design and fabrication technologies in architecture and the arts, robotic construction processes for non-standard concrete structures and XR technologies for architectural practice and teaching.
